I've always wanted to get on a private jet and fly away to a dream destination. A few days ago, that is exactly what I did. Lightfoot Travel has partnered with GI Aviation, and Anantara Hotels and Resorts in the UAE and Oman to take you on a private jet journey through the deserts and islands of the UAE to the green mountains of Oman. Each private charter journey is especially crafted to your liking, promising a bespoke holiday.
Deep in the deserts of Sharjah lies a landscape that makes you feel like you've been beamed up to Mars. Mleiha Archaeological Centre has something for everyone. Visit the museum, go dune bashing, camp overnight under the stars, or simply explore the endless red dunes. Mleiha holds history dating back 130,000 years ago to the Paleolithic era which was discovered around forty years ago. If you are going from Dubai to Mleiha it is definitely worth the hour's drive.
On a recent visit I got to view Mleiha from a different vantage point; From 'up in the air'. The stunning landscape just blew me away! Click on the short drone video above for a glimpse into the vast desert of Mleiha.
In June, 2017 my family and I visited Finolhu Baa Atoll in the Maldives for the second time. After loving our first stay there we had to go back.
Finolhu Maldives is unique in many ways. Pristine beaches, turquoise lagoons and a Maldivian Island with a bit of a retro twist. This 'groovy island' has managed to balance retro chic with island luxury. It is located in the Baa Atoll which is a Unesco Biosphere Reserve. It has its own 1.8 kilometer sandbar which makes it a little different to other islands in the area as well. The staff are firendly, smiling and very welcoming. Finolhu is ideal for families who don't want to compromise on a luxury island resort.
So I am finally going live, officially. I still have many reviews and articles to post so you can say the website is still sort of 'under construction'. I'm learning as I go and enjoying the journey. Updates will be up on my instagram story, so stay tuned!!
If you're reading this, welcome to my blog! As the title says this is my very first blog post and I feel like I'm venturing into unknown territory. I have been a photographer for many years and graduated from college with a BA in Commercial Art and a passion for photography, but my love for capturing things with my camera started way before that. My father gave me my very first camera at the age of 6 and that is when my love for this art of expression was born.
My passion for travel, nature and photography has pushed me into the blogging world (with a very big nudge from my friends) so here I am!
My biggest incentive has been my need to share with others what I have learned from my travels and to allow my readers to see the beauty of our wonderful world through my eyes (or lens)!. I love to research n...
The St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort...Where do I start?
A couple of months ago I decided I was in need of some creative inspiration and a good dose of 'Vitamin Sea'. I've been to the Maldives 12 times (13 including this trip) and am hooked. I guess you could call it my happy place and I'm always dreaming of returning to those turquoise lagoons and powder white beaches. So I started to research the different hotels and resorts in the Maldives.. Around that time an article in Conde Naste Traveller caught my attention and I was intrigued by the architecture of the newly opened St Regis Maldives Vommuli resort. I had never been to the Dhaalu atoll and decided that this would be my opportunity to do so.
